Online Text Messaging
Within Facebook, you can send a SMS message to a member if they have the text messaging app. This is a free Facebook App that needs to have been previously subscribed to by both the sender and the receiver of the text message (we could put a “subscribe to the facebook text message app” button with a link within our web app and the users could figure it out from there).
So then the user could send his or her fb friend a text (without having to know the phone #).
And, on the same page that the “subscribe to fb app” button is we could have a box in which a person could input his or her friend’s # (assuming they know it or could look it up on fb) and then another box in which he or she would input the content of the text message.
